Are Invisalign aligners worth it?
If you’re considering straightening teeth either for yourself or for your child, then Invisalign Ormskirk has likely crossed your path. There are lots of benefits to Invisalign that we’re going to talk you through, but the question likely plaguing you is, are they worth the money? We at Parbold Dental totally understand that the initial cost can feel a little intimidating, but we hope that we can explain why we believe Invisalign is worth the extra pennies.
First things first – what actually is Invisalign Ormskirk?
Invisalign consists of clear plastic trays that are built to be more subtle and easier to wear than traditional braces. They are custom designed and made to fit you and your individual smile case. When you come to the practice to receive your aligner trays you’ll actually get a few different sets, as every two weeks or so you change the aligners to start the next stage of the moving process. Depending on the individual the Invisalign Ormskirk system can take between six to twenty-four months to complete.
What are the benefits?
Invisalign has become very popular in recent years and the system is a fantastic one, but that’s not to say that other more traditional forms of straightening such as fixed wire braces (train tracks) aren’t also fantastic and extremely efficient. Both ways straighten teeth and when all is said and done that’s all you’re looking to achieve – straighter teeth.
One of the biggest and most obvious benefits of Invisalign is that they’re, well, pretty invisible. Someone would have to be looking seriously hard to be able to point out that you’re wearing them. Lots of adults and children find that prospect of braces daunting and that’s understandable, anything that makes us stand out or feel different can cause some butterflies, but hopefully with Invisalign this worry bug can be made a little smaller.
Another key feature is that they are completely removable. Being able to remove your braces is a major benefit. Firstly because you don’t have to worry about eating certain hard to chew foods like apples or french sticks. Secondly, because you can on the very odd, super special occasion take them out for part of the day. Thirdly and most importantly your teeth are still accessible and therefore easy to keep super clean.
Comfort and convenience are at the front of the Invisalign experience. The clear trays are very smooth and feel nice and comfy against your tongue, while the pressure system doesn’t push too hard on your teeth and therefore offers minimal discomfort when moving. Then of course there’s that you’ll be coming to see us at the practice less and that it’s highly unlikely you’ll have any damage work to fix. Overall a nice and easy system to work into your busy lifestyle.
The cost
Unfortunately Invisalign is not yet available as an NHS treatment and so it would need to be self-funded. However, when you compare the benefits to the cost of the treatment there isn’t a great deal in it. We at the practice are proud to offer finance options on all our products to help assist patients get the smile of their dreams the way they want to.
