Don’t live with that dodgy tooth for another day
How long ago was it now that you chipped that tooth? Five, 10, 15 years? Every day you look at it in the mirror and think, “I really must do something about it.” Then on you go with your day. At work, you take another look when you nip to the toilet. You feel sure people were looking at it during that meeting, and, if you really want to get that promotion, getting that tooth fixed really would improve your interview image.
But, the day goes on and by the time you’ve been shopping for food, been to the gym and got back home, cooked, and watched some TV, it’s time for bed and you are no nearer calling us at Parbold Dental Practice in Ormskirk to make an appointment to get your tooth looked at.
And that’s a shame because fixing chips, cracks, worn edges, gaps and even slight twists need only take a couple of appointments with veneers.
The big cover-up
Veneers are like magic covers for dodgy teeth like yours. Your tooth is basically healthy and nowhere near the end of its natural life. It doesn’t hurt and it still does a good job of biting and chewing. It just looks rubbish, and people notice that it looks rubbish. Mostly, of course, you notice and that means you are never not aware of it.
It may even be affecting how you smile. Maybe with your lips closed or your hand over your mouth.
How we do veneers
Veneers are very thin sheaths of dental porcelain. We colour match them to your teeth. They get made in a dental laboratory by skilled technicians and this will take a couple of weeks.
When we fit your veneers, we will need to first remove a very thin layer of enamel. This is to create a rough surface to bond your veneers to, and also to ensure that your veneer lies flush with the rest of your teeth.
We cement the veneers in place and you are good to go.
Now all you need to do is look after your veneer with a good oral hygiene routine. It is strong and durable and can last for at least 10 years.
