Filling in, smoothing out
Would you like to be able to reduce the signs of an ageing face, quickly and with very little fuss? Here at Parbold Dental, Susie Gardiner carries out 2 kinds of treatments to make faces look more youthful. One treatment smooths out fine lines and the other fills in hollows and wrinkles.
Susie has been as a dentist for many years, but she has also been working with facial aesthetics for 13 years, applying her dentist’s skills and deep anatomical knowledge of how the muscles, nerves, tendons, organs and skin of the head, face, mouth and neck work together to the complementary field of facial enhancement. Her many years’ experience in both areas means that when you come to her for facial aesthetics treatments, you will be to get a really natural look.
Susie uses 2 different treatments: Botox and dermal fillers. You can have them separately or combined.
Botox
Botox is a purified protein from the botulinum A type toxin. It works by temporarily by blocking the nerve impulses that tell the muscles to contract, inhibiting this action. Botox injections take around a week to fully get going, so the effects are gradual and subtle rather than instantaneous and dramatic. Botox is particularly popular for frown lines and forehead lines.
Dermal fillers
After about age 30, the body starts to produce less and less of an important chemical called hyaluronic acid. We need this acid to form the bonds between skin cells and to help them retain moisture. With less hyaluronic acid, the skin loses its glow and starts to look papery. We use it to plump out areas where hollows and wrinkles have developed, such as the nasolabial lines between the nose and mouth, or smoker’s wrinkles around the top lip, or hollows in the cheeks.
Having both treatments subtly recreates a youthful face. Both treatments take only few minutes to administer and last for a few months. If you choose to have them topped up, it’s best to do so just before they wear off.
