The durable, robust quick fix for imperfect teeth
If you are looking for a reliable, easy way to enhance your smile, porcelain veneers could be the answer. At Parbold Dental Practice, we use veneers to deal with a range of imperfections because they are not very invasive and are a quick solution that will see your teeth through at least the next decade.
Veneers are tiny sheaths of porcelain that go over the front of your teeth. We custom-make for each tooth, making sure that they blend in with the rest of your teeth.
Veneers are a very useful way to cover over various different imperfections, including cracks, chips, worn edges, stains that whitening can’t shift, and to hide gaps between teeth and receding gums.
There is no limit to the number of teeth you can have veneered, but most people choose the ones that are most on show at the front of the mouth.
How the process works
You first come to Parbold Dental Practice in Ormskirk for a consultation with our dentists. We will look at your teeth to make sure that veneers are the best solution for you. If they are, we make impressions of your teeth using dental putty and also colour match them. The impressions and colour needs go off to a laboratory where skilled technicians will make the veneers.
Fabrication takes about two weeks. When we have received the veneers from the laboratory, we will call you back for your fitting. So that the veneers lie flush with your other teeth, and to give a rough surface for them to bond to, we need to remove a very thin layer of tooth enamel. We can give you a local anaesthetic for this so you won’t feel a thing.
Once we have prepared your teeth, we bond the veneers to the front of your teeth using special dental adhesive. We make sure all is good and tidy up the edges and then you leave Parbold Dental Practice with beautiful new teeth and a new level of confidence.
Once you have your veneers, they can last for 10 years or more, providing you take good care of them.
